Having the electric boost makes owning a single speed viable in my hilly city. Cruising speed is about 30km/hr on the flat and not much less going up the hills. Battery life is better than expected so far with some basic power management as you ride (turn down the assist whenever it makes sense). Very happy with it!
With my AM+ I ride 24km to work every day. That consumes about 50 - 70% of baterie depends of weather and traffic. Surprising is that I can get engine support up to 35km/h on level 5. Without support I can get up to 40km/h. I strongly recommend Adjustable Stem Pack for more comfortable ride position.
This is a great bike. It looks sharp. It's a conversation starter. it has more than sufficient power, and jets away in up to 30kmh. Battery is suffiecient for city life, at least if you provide some power yourself.
It seems quite small. Good for tight city riding. Classic fixie/single speed look and position.
Rear wheel engine is perhaps not the best possible setup for an e-bike. The extra power feels less natural than with a mid-mounted engine. However it is probably a reason for the low price, and it also makes it better to ride without power. Not a problem.
It is possible to use it almost as a moped. Just keep your pedals going, and the engine runs at full power. The different power levels is different from the other e-bikes I have tried. I you provide little power, the engine does all the work, if you pedal yourself, the engine gives less. The powre levels seems to control the speed at which the power turns on. That's OK.
There is plenty room for a wide tire. I have good hopes that it can work well as a winter bike with studded tires.
* There are no ligths. Argh. This is annoying. One of the good thing about an ebike is that there is always power, and that you can use that for lights. This is something i would expect from an ebike, and a big miss.
* I have fenders. It doesnt seem possible to removed the rear wheel without taking off the rear fender. This will be an issue when changing tires or tubes. Seems like a design flaw.
The AM1 definitely makes a huge promise about it's functionality when you see it on the website.. and damn, I was not disappointed!
The assembling was easy to manage by myself and after I got it a week ago, I was riding it every single day as much as possible!
It's just a lot of fun to have the motor on and it makes biking in the city much faster, especially at traffic lights! Since I live in quite a hilly city, it's perfect to go uphill with less effort.
But even with the motor turned off, it's super easy to ride it in flat areas.
The design is wonderful and with the pistachio green it's an eye-catcher!

Received my AM1+ (Australian user) and assembled on Saturday and then rode it forty kilometres on Sunday. The assembly instructions were great and worked very well - the fine tuning of the disk brakes the most stressful part (you want to get that right!). I changed out the pedals for Shimano SPD (Flat one side clip the other) and added a bottle cage. I was impressed with build quality of then bike and the attention to detail.
I am a regular rider (carbon road bikes) so the additional weight was the first thing I noticed but with very low levels of assist the bike felt like a really comfortable commuter. My initial ride was 40k with a good mix of hills and flat and I averaged 2-3 level of assist. At the end of the ride I had around 30% battery left - range anxiety now quelled!
My experience with the team at AM has been great - they are responsive and clearly committed to user satisfaction.
I strongly recommend the AM1+ as an electric commuter!
The right balance between minimalism and functionality
I ordered two of these for my girlfriend and myself. Assembly was quite a bit more laborious than I imagined, but once that was done, the joy of the first rides quickly made us forget about that.
These bikes are really quite surprising in a very positive way, and feel great to ride. In our case the range seems quite a bit wider than 30km, more like 45km. I guess this depends a lot on how flat the terrain is and how often one has to stop at red lights. We're very happy about our purchase.

I took a little time to assemble, but it was also a lot of fun, and now I know almost all the screws on the bike. My first impressions are very good, it is a lot of fun to be on the road. 55/5000

I was looking for a pedelec that looks cool and it isn’t too expensive which seemed like a contradiction. Luckily I found analog motion.
The setup took an afternoon and it was really not to complicated.
The bike kept all its promises. Next week I will try to install a thule chariot.
The Bike is perfect. Its so much fun to ride with this bike! the battery looks great and the range is totally okay. I drove 43km with one battery every time with modus 3 to 5. Mountains were there too.
I already customized the coats for the brakes, which looks great with the carbon black and exchanged the saddle for one from ergon (not on the pictures to see)
In the future I will improve the discs even better because the bike is very fast. everything is like a normal bike, the brake can be easily changed, which is great!

Mein AM1 Step + fährt sich gut, genau richtig für die Stadt. Die Batterie läßt sich schnell ausbauen und z. B. zum Einkauf gut mitnehmen. Die ersten Probefahrten im Freundeskreis haben bereits stattgefunden. Alle sind begeistert von der kompakten Form und dem für e bikes geringen Gewicht. Danke an Jack und Nav, sie haben ein richtig gutes bike entwickelt!
My AM1 Step + runs well, just right for the city. The battery can be removed quickly and z. B. good for shopping. The first test rides in the circle of friends have already taken place. Everyone is enthusiastic about the compact shape and the low weight for e bikes. Thanks to Jack and Nav, they have developed a really good bike!
Got my AM1 Step+ some days ago. Besides the fact that all hex keys had been missing the assembly worked quite well. For the final check I gave my bike to an authorized bike shop, especially for the brakes. My first ride was exciting and I am still learning how to handle an electrified bike. But its funny and the bike looks great. I am really happy...
Thanks so much for this design. I expected my AM1 would be good - but even in my landscape with 50m uphills it is so comfortable! The frame design is excellent. As an e-bike this is a must have for sportive bikers and I am sure, this bike is today a forecast how e-bikes will be designed much more future. Thanks a lot once again. Dirk

I'm really excited about the AM1. The size is perfect, I love the satin clay grey finish and it rides fantastically.
The assembly was done quickly thanks to the great instructions. I only have one request left: I'm not quite sure if I ever have received an invoice or if I just can't find my invoice anymore. So I would appreciate it if you can send me a new one. Then I have something for the insurance, just in case.
Ausreichend Reichweite bei 10 km pro Fahrt, Super Design, sehr Leicht trotz Motor und Akku, Scheibenbremsen sind soweit gut, Sattel ist sehr hart, Aufbau war mit 3 h ok, Einstellung der Bremsen war komplizierter
Perfect on the streets. It is much fun! And the best part: Nobody recognizes on the first Look that this bike has an Engine ! 30km in different modes is no problem for the Battery!
A really Great and innovative bike!
I love my new bike - it really looks great and rides like heaven. Just two little things I miss: A chain guard and a porter would have been nice to have. But these are just details ... On the whole I am absolutely thrilled!
