Changing handlebars

  • So some people love the moustache bars and some people don't. I like the look but not the riding position so swapped out for some straight (riser) bars which are readily available. I actually sourced some carbon fibre ones but good old Ally would be fine. The only thing to make sure of is that the clamp fitting is 25.4mm not the oversize 31.8mm. Well that's if you want to use the standard stem although to be honest replacement stems are cheap as chips and so if you have the perfect bars of the wrong size just get a replacement stem. Fitting is so straightforward there is no need for a guide. FWIW I go 660mm bars and trimmed down to a more street friendly 550mm. Photo to follow

  • I fitted a straight handlebar from santafixie.com,
    unfortunately, it was the last one available,
    otherwise, I could have shared the link here.
    But I am sure there are similar other ones available
