Dear Reader,
Analog Motion began in 2016 with a simple idea: to make beautiful, attainable electric bikes.
At the time, we had no experience in the bike industry — only a shared desire to build something that could make everyday movement feel effortless and joyful. We started small, working evenings and weekends, shaping prototypes in borrowed workshops and learning everything we could about what it meant to bring an idea like this to life.
Two years later, we launched on Kickstarter and were met with overwhelming support. From that moment, Analog Motion grew from a dream into a community of riders, investors, suppliers, designers, and engineers. Together, we delivered nearly 3,000 e-bikes to 240 cities around the world.
The journey was far from smooth. We navigated Brexit, a global pandemic, supplier disruptions, the collapse of retail partners, and even the collapse of a bank that held our credit line. Through every twist and turn, we were continuously powered by our firm belief that moving through space should be simple, liberating, and fun.
In 2023, despite years of resilience and our best efforts, we closed our doors and ceased operations. Simply put, we were unable to secure the partnerships and funding needed to keep the business alive. To anyone who has been negatively affected by the closure, we are truly sorry.
Accepting the reality of the closure is painful, but also reminds us; we set out to make beautiful, attainable electric bikes, and we did. Thousands of people rode them to work, to meet friends, to delivery over 100,000 products door to door, and sometimes just to ride for love of the journey.
You joined in, you shared your stories, and you helped shape a movement larger than us.
To everyone who believed in us, invested in us, built with us, and rode with us — thank you. Analog Motion was never just a company. It was a collaboration between dreamers and doers who believed that design and motion could bring joy. Our regret is we are not able to keep doing this for longer.
With love and gratitude,
Nav & Jack
